reflection

For the outcome of my project I want to spread awareness about domestic violence.I want the victims of doestic violence to know that they are not alone and that people support them.Everybody should know that if you know someone that is in that situation, or you yourself are in that situation, you can get out of it and save your life. People who cause domestic violence shouldn't be with a good person like the victims. Most people also don't pay attention that men can also be abused. It may sound like a joke but in reality men get abused almost as much as women.Besides spreading awareness on domestic violence I also want to let people know that both women and men get abused and they shouldn't ignore that.Men need help as much as women do.You should support purple for the stop of domestic violence.

what I learned about domestic violence

So far on my topic I've learned stuff that I didn't really thought about when ever I heard domestic violence. One thing is that men also can get treated as badly as women do when they are in a domestic violence realtionship.I've also researched some statistics on domestic violence and the numbers are pretty high for a teenage relationship. There was one that said that 1 of every 5 high school girls are being physically and/or sexually abuse by a dating partner(Domestic Violence Statistics).Another thing I learned but kind of already knew was some of the reasons why people stay in a domestic violence relationship.

My topic is about domestic violence. The reason why I chose this topic was because there are a lot of women that are in an abusive relationship but they are too afraid to speak up about it. Women are the most common to be in an abusive relationship but men can also be in an abusive relationship. There are a lot of women that are abused that don't want to speak up about it because they are afraid. But women need to know that is better to speak up than to keep it a secret. Somethings about my topic is that there are different ways that domestic violence can occur. The most common is physical abuse, but there is also sexual abuse, emotional abuse, economic abuse, and psychological abuse. Back then domestic violence was not consider as a political issue. But throughout the years things have changed. Now if you are in an abusive relationship you can go to the authorities and handle the situation. Some women are still afraid to say that they are in an abusive relationship but a lot of women are speaking up now. There are centers that can help you out when you are in an abusive relationship.
